Constant Grip Pressure Allows Large Muscles to Do Their Job
If you maintain a constant grip pressure, the Large Muscles will take over and control your golf swing. With my method, there is no need for a wrist hinge since we trap the ball with our body rotation. Once the shaft is in line with the front arm, we want to maintain that perfect impact position to the top of the backswing and back down through impact and around to the left (right hander). Hinging causes flipping and miss hits.
3 On a Scale of 1 – 10
Everyone has their own grip pressure. You will be much more consistent if your grip pressure does not change during the swing. I think 3 on a scale of 1 – 10 is about how strong your grip pressure should be. If you can not control the club head, you need a bit more grip pressure. You want enough grip pressure to keep the club shaft in line with the front arm at the top of the backswing, just like setup.
