I am using the “Gap Drill ” setup on the course . This setup with the club head right behind the ball would feel totally different.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterEd_Blackburn1 Aug 04, 2020

Hi Ross. Hope you’re doing great. Haven’t posted in a long time because I’ve been working hard on the swing. Still a struggle but significant progress. Glad to see this discussion thread because that’s why I am here. I can’t seem to land on a consistent Left wrist position as it relates to whether the thumb is flat and in line with the wrist or slightly angled as in cocking it upward like giving a “thumbs up” ?? Looking at the videos you have a slight cocking of the left, vs the Moe Norman type straight line bent down and in line with the arm and wrist position.Hopefully I’m explaining this well enough but I’m sure you know what I’m attempting to say. I’m fighting the old instinct of wanting to cock the Wrist upward whenever I attempt to keep the left arm from breaking too much in the backswing which people are pointing out that I am in fact doing. I am leaning toward Working the “Moe” position because centrifugal force wants to straighten the arm And hands at impact. On the other hand, really hard for me to execute it consistently. Also, when I bend the wrists a bit upward It feels stronger (per your drill) but it also results in me activating the hands and also the arms a bit at impact.
So I guess my question is (sorry for the usual verbosity), is it terrible for the wrists to cock up/down a bit as long as they stay cupped through impact?

Calvin Peete and Jordan Spaeth played with less than dead straight left arms.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterFemgolf1 Jul 30, 2020
Thanks a lot for this prompt response. Sir, please with the TEMPLATE, confirm that the shaft have to be in line with the left arm strand bowed left wrist THROUGHOUT the swing (backswing and DOWNSWING ) so that I focus on the straight left arm on the range.
I tried it today and I was getting unprecedented distances.
I need your comment for confidence.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterDuke Aug 19, 2020
I do see my elbow pointing out and then back on my follow through so it may be from a chicken wing effect. I will try rotating my elbows towards my hips more at setup. Any other chicken wing drills you suggest?Reposted Forum moveKeymasterFemgolf1 Aug 24, 2020
Thanks so much for your usual prompt response to my request/question. The reference site nailed it on point just as your answer. The essence of the question originally is to be convinced that I am working on the right thing and to maximize the privilege of meeting you as the best teacher to me.
The reference site has given me the confidence I need to continue with what I am working on@ locked WRISTS and even firm grip to help keep the WRISTS intact THROUGHOUT the golf swing. I am not there yet and so I will continue to brief you as I progress. Many thanks once again my Prof.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterAnthony225 Sep 10, 2020
Ok. I will continue to try and just let the swing unwind. Seems like with my irons and woods off the ground I dont have this issue as much. I don’t notice a lift when I watch my swing on video but I could be just not identifying it. Sometimes when I try to just let the swing unwind with the driver my hips seem to feel like they get ahead and have to slow down for the arms and club to catch up.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterFemgolf1 Sep 23, 2020
Thanks so very much for this clarification. We are still saying the same thing as in Absolutely PASSIVE ARMS AND HANDS IN THE SWING PROPELLED BY THE THE SHOULDERS ON THE BACKSWING AND THE BODY ROTATION IN THE DOWNSWING.
THIS IS WHAT I HAD BEEN WORKING ON AND HONESTLY IT IS WORKING SO PERFECTLY. WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE ROSS. THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR COMMITMENT TO US.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterFemgolf1 Sep 22, 2020
Thank you Ross for always being there for our struggles. I watched the Ross Move video over and over. I see you generating a ton of power in the drill down @PULLING the club down and impacting the ball. But I think the hands ate supposed to QUIET as one rotates. This aspect of pulling the club down in front is a bit confusing. Please help with exactly what you mean when the hands and arms are expected to be quiet. Thanks.Reposted Forum moveKeymasteralanschulte Oct 09, 2020
I remember seeing an interview with John Stockton about shooting a critical free throw. He said he tried to control his posture and breathing. Nothing else and he did pretty well in his sport.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterAnthony225 Oct 06, 2020
Thanks Ross. I’ll try to change my focus. I do tend to focus on other things like keeping my right wrist back, unwinding, and bringing elbows down in front of hips. Maybe thats too much.Reposted Forum moveKeymasterAnthony225 Jul 28, 2017
Ok. This brings clarity to the wrist setup for me. Now back to the fixed wrist drill!

Dear Ross, many thanks for your consistency with your method prescription. It’s so helpful when it is consistent. I have been searching for the fixed WRISTS drill video but couldn’t find it. Please help to get it that I may watch and use to improve my conviction. Thank you -
