    HI ROSS!
I like to grip down 1″ or more with Driver, because the club-head feels out of balance and control if my hands are at the end of the grip. I feel like I “lose” connection with the clubface to say it another way. I’m not that concerned about it having always favored accuracy over distance, but wondering what your thoughts are or if you’ve had students you’ve helped with this (Maybe add a weight to the butt of the handle as Jack Nicklaus advocates)?
    Thanks in advance!
    Dave

Gripping down is not an issue. I do it all the time with all clubs for a variety of results. You don’t really lose much distance, but do gain more control.

I would not add weight. There is no benefit and may make you hinge.
